When donating via txt we all expect our chosen charity to receive the donation instantly so that they can provide life saving support, food and health-care to those affected by the disaster.
In the event of a disaster the lives of millions often depends on our immediate intervention but some mobile network providers take up to 90 days to transfer funds to charities. Hundreds of millions of pounds donated in emergency appeals are not reaching charities until it is too late.
I am calling on all network providers to speed up payments of txt2donate funds to charities in the event of disaster appeals.
There are 64 million cell phones in the UK and we donate 220% of the global average per person. With such strong consumer adoption of mobile technologies and txt2donate as the newly emerging channel of choice it is now imperative for network providers to focus their efforts on reviewing the way they work with charities around disaster campaigns.
By streamlining the way in which aid is delivered and by working together, charities and network operators can change the way donations are managed and increase the speed at which aid delivered
saving millions more lives.
As a first step, I will invite representatives from network providers and emergency aid charities to meet and discuss the issues around txt2donate disaster response strategy and to find a solution to this international problem.
By working together we will be able to deliver a more efficient service to the vulnerable and prevent the late delivery of aid as seen in East Africa Appeal 2011.
Kind regards

The past 5 years have taken us on a huge journey through some of the most intricate areas of the advertising industry and we’ve come out the other end with a baby. It’s a celebration of advertising technology, innovation and the third sector.
Leading a team of awesome people to produce a SAAS platform, we are independently enabling charities to deliver millions of pounds of revenue for their respective organisations each year.
Having been through the stress and emotional torture of loosing loved ones to disease recently. I personally feel more can be done to find cures and solutions to many charitable causes. We’re here to make a difference to society and through our product we aim to bring hope and results to those who need it most.
I’m launching this new product soon with it’s very own shiny new website.

I work in 3 areas: advertising, technology and charity. I run a small business and also operate as a marketing consultant to a number of companies… and yes single!
(Think I may add this as an extra service to my portfolio)
Steve jobs has had some pretty pivotal moments in his career with Apple. Fortunately he managed to hold on to the whole process despite being somewhat distracted by illness and fatigue.
Steve has decided at the peak of his career to make the bold decision and leave Apple. After leading a great company into war with the PC. He leaves Apple as the market leader in design and innovation. Both HP and IBM recently announced Apple has won the war & ACER reported losses, the future of the PC is bleak.
Tim Cook is lined up to step into Steve Jobs shoes and run the entire operation. He has some very big boots to fill and sceptics are already predicting a fall in success for Apple. But how much damage can one man really do?
After all Tim Cook will actually have the very same team to support him and deliver new products. Personally I think Tim will have a very positive effect bringing in a fresh perspective, new blood and energy into the organisation.
The media may be able to influence the share prices by scaremongering but if you look at the facts it’s just a recruitment exercise! I predict a bright future for Apple and Tim Cook.
